The cost to install an average concrete padio will depend on the material and finish grade that you choose, the surface area, and preparation and/or any special requirements. For example, stamped concrete or decorative concrete will be more expensive than a standard concrete slab. There are also some properties that are easier and cheaper to build on, which could be the case for a number of reasons.

We take all sorts of factors into consideration before providing pricing to our customers. We've been able to find some amazing ways to save them money by pricing on a case-by-case basis.

We're noticing that it's becoming more common for our customers to choose some type of decorative concrete for their patio. If you opted for a stamped or exposed concrete patio, you'll want to wait until the surface has been pressure washed and sealed before walking on it. So after the new concrete has been poured, we recommend to wait another two days just to be on the safe side before introducing foot traffic.

As a general rule of thumb, you can walk on the surface of a newly installed patio after a couple days. For adding additional weight like furniture, it is recommended to wait at least 10 days before putting all your furniture out there. If it was our house, we would wait a solid 2 weeks just to be totally safe.

Want to know something funny? While you're waiting for a concrete patio to dry, you actually have to keep it very wet. While the curing process is underway, it is imperative that the slab is not allowed to dry out all the way. That being said, it takes about 5-7 days for the concrete to completely cure.

There are five key things to do if you want your concrete patio to hold up for years to come.

1. Clean it up - It can be counterintuitive to sweep outdoors, we know. But once a week, you should sweep any dirt and debris from the surface of your concrete patio. You may also use a garden hose--but not a power washer--to hose off any dirt or debris.

2. Avoid using certain chemicals - It's best to avoid using certain chemicals on your concrete patio. The sealer that is applied to finished concrete will be important for its ability to endure outdoors, and certain chemicals can eat through the sealer and damage the concrete.

3. Remove stains sooner than later - Things happen. We get it. Just do your best to clean up stains and spills from your concrete as soon as they happen. This will prevent discoloration and staining from occuring, which will maintain the aesthetics of your concrete. 

4.  Watch the weight - It's a common misconception that because concrete is such a heavy and durable material, it can hold up to just about anything. But just like concrete driveways aren't equipped to handle the weight of heavy machinery, you'll also have to keep your eye on the amount of weight you put on your patio.

5. Fix cracks as soon as you can - Even with the best maintenance, it's still possible for your concrete patio to develop fractures and cracks over time.
